Thumbs down Least Common Archetypes

Hi,

I'm considering purchasing this game, but I'm wondering what the least common professions are these days. Are there any professions by themselves that are pretty uncommon? Which of the 30 hybrid professions (Warrior/Monk, Necro/Mesmer, Elementalist/Ranger, etc.) are seen least often, and why?

Does it come down to difficulty of play, the professions simply having no synergy together, or maybe they make a boring combination for just about everyone?

Thanks for the input.

Anyone playing a mesmer at high levels is pretty uncommon.. so are necros. Most of the mesmers are me/e, me/mo, or me/n. You don't see many mesmer warriors, or rangers, though both can definitely be made to work. Any combination you want, really, can do something well if you look at it long enough. That doesn't mean that you'll be able to play it well, though. Everyone has a different play style, and just because a build works, doesn't mean that you'll be able to do it.

Ranger, Necromancer, and Mesmer primaries are less common than Elementalists, Monks, and Warriors in PvE. If you want to play with human beings in PvE, avoid the first three professions, in spite of their being just as useful as the latter three.

Monks have (by far) the easist time finding groups; ironically, Monks also get blamed for groups' failures.

If you want to PvP and you're not in a guild already, you'll likely have to play one of the various flavors of the month until you attain enough rank or fame to join a PvP guild. You can find information about FotMs in other forums.

Good luck with your future Guild Wars characters,
cmb

Mesmer by far... Most of the general Guildwars population lacks the skills to play a mesmer really effectivly... But just choose whatever you think is the coolest, or the class that you have the most fun with, because you can always make a new character, or redo your character..... so basiaclly...

Just have fun ^-^
